Sleeve Starts Patella Knee Strap

As I age, my knees are seeming to age much more significantly than I am! Or at least that is what I like to tell myself…..

I had left leg injuring my whole life starting when I was very young. In high school my knee was injured and I have had trouble with that my whole life!  I kind of expect that my left knee will always be wonky but my right knee was always fine until…..

Last summer, I decided to start running again.  My first day I did about two miles on somewhat uneven terrain.  Not a very good idea and my wife let me know! The next day I did a similar thing which was too much for what my body could handle.

The next morning I woke up to take the dogs out and almost fell over when I put weight on my knee. My head looked down in shock when it was my RIGHT knee that hurt.  I had the classic signs of a sprained knee including my knee buckling when I put any weight on it. The stairs were my enemy and I tried to give it some rest and ice.  After 2-3 weeks it started feeling better.  But the cold weather that came in the Midwest did not help it at all!

This spring I decided to do what I could to strengthen my knee.  But I was smart(er) this time.  As in my last post, I decided to recruit some help in the form of SleeveStars.  The first thing I got was their knee sleeve (see last blog post here) which helped immensely.

As my knee has grown stronger with the help of 5 flights of seriously intense stairs at work that I do every day, my knee grew stronger.  I wanted some lighter support when I was walking (I haven’t yet gotten back to running…..yet!) so I ordered their knee patella strap.

This strap has been great, it is lighter and fits under my work clothes as well as my workout clothes. It gives just enough support that when I am exercising I feel less fatigue in my knee and my recovery time is less.

I have used all kinds of other products for my knees over the years.  SleeveStars’ products have been just what I needed to get my knees back in shape.  This is a one size fits all so anyone can use it.

Now to running, maybe this summer. If my wife lets me!
